BAPTISM

Baptism

The First and Vital Sacrament of Initiation
Baptism is undoubtedly the very first sacrament and serves as the gateway to the rest of the sacraments. In the eyes of the Catholic Church, it holds utmost importance as a sacrament of initiation. It is through baptism that we are welcomed into the Christian community, marked as children of God, and cleansed from original sin.
First and foremost, baptism is the sacrament that introduces us to the Christian faith. Just as life is not possible without birth, initiation into the Church is not possible without baptism. It is in the waters of baptism that we are reborn, not merely as physical beings, but as spiritual beings embracing our faith. We are immersed in God's love, grace, and mercy, which empowers us to embark on our Christian journey.
